PG Diploma in Graphics and Animation (20 Seats)

( Self Financed Full Time Diploma Course of One Year Duration )
Graphics and Animation have been internationally acclaimed as an effective medium for story telling and presentation. It has turned into a massive industries . The Animation film makers are in great demand in India and abroad. A recent report of FICCI, ‘The Indian Entertainment Industry: Emerging Trends and Opportunities’ has realised the significance of the Animation Course as follows:
‘…The projected rate of growth of Animation Industry is 30%...if India is to gear upits production capabilities to meet the demands of the international animation industry, significant investments will have to be made in training the next generation of technically savvy animators. Unfortunately, right from the days when a handful of western artists like Claire Weeks from Disney were entrusted with the training needs of the aspiring Indian animator, vocational training in animation continues to be inadequate.
Compare this to Korea which has sixty colleges dedicated to the art and craft of animation!’
In India large number pf animation houses have come up to meet the demand. However, a wide gap remains between the demand of Animation films and their availability. The Indian Animation industry needs well trained animators. At present about 6000 animators are available in the country against the demand of 40, 000. Hence there is need to fill the gap. Commencement of a PG course in Graphics and Animation will fill the void of well trained and skilled animators especially in the areas of film, T.V. and developmental programmes. The course will facilitate the innovative approaches and methods in the areas of animation film production for entertainment, and social development.
The course is an intensive one year programme, designed to give equal emphasis on the art as well as craft of animation, covering everything from principles of animation to scripting and story boarding to the latest high-end 3D softwares.
