Ph.D.
The Centre offers a Ph.D programme for students and media professionals who would like to further their academic qualifications. Scholars interested in areas of media studies, journalism, cultural studies, Film studies and interdisciplinary work in relation with gender studies, humanities, media technology, Radio etc can register for the Ph.D programme at the centre.
 
 
Eligibility

Candidates should have completed their post graduation (M.A.) in Mass Communication with 55% or an M.A in any other subject with 55% marks and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the media. M.Phil., NET and SET is not necessary for registration in Ph.D.

 
Admission Process
The Centre will accept applications for Ph.D. through out the academic year. The Proposals will have to be submitted on the duly prescribed Application Form obtained from the Examination Department. The application with proposals will be submitted at AJK MCRC.
 
The proposals for Ph.D. will be evaluated and the candidates will be interviewed for their selection to the programme.

  • Jamia employee’s son/daughter/spouse/ of a Jamia employee and the permanent teachers of recognized institutions are exempted from the payment of supervision fee but shall pay ( as special fee.) R.S. 100/- per annum.
  • In case of re-admission of Ph. D scholar, the arrears of fees for the previous period will be payable by the scholar.
  • All the fees and charges and subject to revision.
  • Calculation of the arrears of fee to be governed by the rules given in the Prospectus of the year for which the fee us being charged.
