M. Kasim joined AJK, MCRC as Professor Media Technology. He is a former official of Indian Broadcasting Engineers Service. He has over twenty years of experience in planning, installation, operation & maintenance, training and research areas related to broadcasting media infrastructure and technologies.

He started his career in 1988 as Design Engineer with NTPC Ltd. and subsequently in 1991 joined Doordarshan where he worked in different positions for over eighteen years. Mr. Kasim has been trained at Central Training Institute, NHK, (Japan Broadcasting Corpn.) and has also worked for a year as a visiting researcher at the Science & Technical Research Laboratories NHK, Tokyo.

Before joining MCRC, he was involved in introduction of new Technologies in DD Network. He was a key member of the team that prepared Digital Migration Plan for DD Terrestrial Network and implemented DVB-H pilot project for introducing "DD Mobile TV Service" in Delhi. He was looking after planning of DD HDTV terrestrial service and developing of broadcasting infrastructure and services specifically targeting border and remote areas of the country.

Mr. Kasim is a Life Member of Broadcast Engineering Society (India), member of IEEE and a member of Sub Group III, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting for the Broadcasting Sector. He is a recipient of "BES Annual Award 2007". He holds B. Sc. Engineering (Hons.) from AMU and M. Tech. from IIT Kanpur. His interests are New Media Technologies, Educational Technologies, ICTs and use of diverse delivery platforms for Mass Communication.
