Uttam Kumar Pegu is pursuing his doctoral research on “Information and Communication Technology in Electronic Governance” under the supervision of Prof Obaid Siddiqui.

Currently a faculty in the department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Tezpur Central University, Assam, he was earlier employed as a lecturer in the Department of Mass Media; St Anthony’s College, Shillong, Meghalaya and was also a visiting faculty at the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL), Shillong. He has also worked as a Script Writer and Assistant Producer at B Kaman Films and Studio, Guwahati, Assam. He has participated in national and international conferences and has presented papers on Film Studies and Human Rights issues.

As a researcher Mr. Pegu has an interest in Information and Communication Technology, Gender Studies, Media and Textual analyses, Film Studies, Visual Semiotics, Interactive Advertising, New Media and Human Rights Issues
