You can get the application form from the Examination Department of JMI. The other option is to download from our website www.jmi.nic.in . On the home page of our website right bottom of the page you can click the link Form & Proforma. There you can find the Ph.D forms under the heading of Office of the Controller of Examination. |

| 2. What is the cost of application form? |
| The cost of application form is 100/- |

| 3. What is the format for proposal? |
There is no set format for proposal but the minimum expectations are a proper justification of the topic (need, relevance, scope) and research questions, objectives, tentative chapterisation and a preliminary review of literature on the topic you are proposing. |

| 4. What is the word limit for the proposal? |
| Word limit is 1000 to 1500. |

| 5. When is the last date? |
The Centre will accept application for Ph.D through out the academic year. This submission is not restricted by the dates of the admission process. |

| 6. When are the interviews conducted? |
The proposals for Ph.D will be evaluated by a Screening Committee. Short listed candidates will be interviewed by a Core Committee for their selection to the programme. Date of the interview will be informed to the applicants in advance. |

| 7. Who is eligible for applying Ph.D? |
Candidates should have completed their post graduation (M.A) in Mass Commnication with 55% marks or Masters in any other subject with 55% marks and a minimum of 5 years relevant teaching or professional experience in the media. |

| 8. Do I need NET or M.Phil? |
| M.Phil, NET and SLET is not necessary for registration in Ph.D. |

| 9. I have applied once. Do I need to apply again? |
Those who have alredy applied need not to apply again, unless if you want to submit a revised proposal. |

| 10. What is the fee structure? |
1. Every research student shall be required to pay the following Fees as prescribed by the ordiance:
(a) Enrollment Fee to be paid at the time of registration by a candidate, who is joining the University for the first time;
(b) Caution Money be paid at the time of registration;
(c) Course Fee to be paid for the full duration of registration;
(d) Library Fee to be paid per annum for the period a candidate is on the rolls of the University; and
(e) Examination Fee to be paid at the time of submitting the thesis.
2. Employees of the University shall not be required to pay the Course Fees, Library Fee and Caution Money, and the teachers of the recognized School, Collages and Universities shall be exempted from the payment of the Course Fee.
3. Those who are exempted from the payment of the Course Fees under Para 2 above, shall be required to pay the prescribed Special Annual Fee at the beginning of each academic year. |
